Life in Denmark: Is the Grass Really Greener?

Lately, I've been noticing more Americans exploring the idea of living abroad—and honestly, I get it. Have you ever felt the itch to leave the U.S. in search of a better quality of life overseas? Whether it’s the cost of living, affordable housing, or just the curiosity of living in a place that’s still familiar but different enough to make you feel like you're starting fresh, the appeal is real.

One destination you might not have thought about? Denmark. Yup, the land of hygge and sustainability is quietly drawing attention. If you're skeptical, check out @cheap.houses.scandinavia on Instagram. They’ve got some jaw-dropping listings that will make you question why you're still scrolling Zillow for overpriced houses in the U.S. You won't believe the kind of properties you can find—and at prices you’d never dream of back home.

Hotel Highlight: The Sandbourne

Santa Monica’s latest hot spot, The Sandbourne, opened this summer after a stunning transformation. What was once Le Merigot has been reborn as a seaside retreat with a fresh, modern vibe, designed by none other than Icelandic architect Gulla Jónsdóttir. The "Sand Chic" aesthetic brings a calming, coastal feel that hits you the second you step through the doors. It’s like entering a Mediterranean oasis in the heart of buzzing Santa Monica.

From the minimalist yet warm decor to the way the space just feels like a breath of fresh air, this place is perfect for anyone looking to unwind while still being steps away from the city’s energy. If you’re in the area (or planning to be), this spot is worth checking out.

Hilton Teams Up With Be My Eyes for More Accessible Stays

In a move that’s making hotels more inclusive, Hilton has partnered with the Be My Eyes app to help blind and low-vision guests navigate their stays more easily. This app connects users with volunteers through video calls, offering real-time help for tasks like adjusting the thermostat or getting the coffee maker working. Hilton is taking this accessibility up a notch by offering dedicated support from hotel staff for guests using the app across several of its brands, including Waldorf Astoria and DoubleTree.

Although it’s only available in the U.S. and Canada for now, this partnership is a great step toward making travel more accessible for everyone.
