The Outdoor Adventure Paradise That’s Secretly the Most Zen Place in America
Imagine a morning where the only thing on your to-do list is sipping your coffee at whatever pace feels right. A day where the biggest decision is whether to relax in a hammock or take a slow walk through nature. We all crave these rare, blissful moments, and if you're seeking a destination that guarantees them, you might want to head north—way north.
According to a new study by The Green Band (yes, they’re a cannabis shop, so trust they know a thing or two about relaxation), Anchorage, Alaska, has earned the crown as the most peaceful vacation spot in the U.S. Their research ranked cities based on factors like noise pollution, commute times, population density, and access to parks. Anchorage, with its vast landscapes and slower pace of life, came out on top with the best chances for finding that elusive zen.
Could Your Next Vacation Be the Secret to Staying Young?
We all know traveling is great for reducing stress, but did you ever think it could keep you looking and feeling younger, too? Turns out, it’s not just a coincidence. A new study is showing that the benefits of travel go far beyond a tan and a good Instagram shot.
Researchers found that aspects like new social connections, better sleep, and fresh experiences might actually help lower the risk of premature aging. Fangli Hu, a PhD candidate at Edith Cowan University and lead author of the study, explains that travel has the potential to make a real difference in health and aging. So, while you’re out there collecting passport stamps, you might also be adding a few more healthy years to your life.
Martinique: The Caribbean Island You Haven’t Been To But Absolutely Should
Comparing one Caribbean island to another just doesn’t do them justice. Each has its own culture, history, and rhythm that goes way beyond the typical tourist experiences. That couldn’t be truer than for Martinique—a Caribbean island that’s still flying under the radar, but trust me, it’s worth a visit.
Established by the French in 1635, Martinique is a blend of French and Caribbean cultures, offering something unique to travelers looking for more than just beach resorts. Its lush landscapes, art, local food, and creativity make it a haven for anyone who loves to immerse themselves in rich culture. Plus, with only about 15% of its visitors coming from the U.S., it still feels like a bit of a secret.
The Future of Hospitality: Texas Debuts the World’s First 3D-Printed Hotel
The West Texas town of Marfa is known for its art scene, but now it’s on the map for something totally different—the world’s first 3D-printed hotel. El Cosmico, a boutique hotel and campground, is expanding with 43 new hotel units and 18 homes, all constructed with 3D printing technology.
Created in collaboration with 3D printing company ICON and the Bjarke Ingels Group, this ambitious project covers 60 acres and is unlike anything else in the world. The hotel is a glimpse into the future of sustainable architecture, blending high-tech innovation with desert landscapes.
